Joule Electronics Ltd

Terms & Conditions

PAYMENT OF GOODS/SERVICES: All goods and/or services supplied by Joule Electronics Ltd hereinafter referred to as the seller will remain the property of the seller until paid for in full. The seller requires full payment of all goods and/or services not later than 30 days from the date of invoice.

If we are holding the purchasers credit card details on file and have written authorisation from the purchaser, we will use the credit card details to discharge any debt as it becomes due on a monthly basis unless notice is given in writing from the purchaser to terminate this agreement. If we are not holding any means of automatically discharging invoices as they become due, then it is up to the purchaser to ensure that we receive payment by the invoice due date. If payment is not received within our trading terms then the account will be automatically placed on hold resulting in the suspension of further goods and/or services including requests for radio index codes.

The seller reserves the right to close any account that exceeds our trading terms and to place the account on a cash with order basis or to cease dealing with the account permanently whichever the seller deems necessary.

PRICING: All prices quoted by the seller are exclusive of any carriage or tax and may be subject to variation from time to time as prices of raw materials fluctuate.

DECODING EQUIPMENT: In cases where the purchaser requires a second system, this cannot be supplied with the same serial number as the original. Instead, a duplicate set of software (a copy of the original with a new serial number) will be supplied at half cost. The hardware is chargeable at the normal price.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATION The seller reserves the right to alter the specifications of any product or software without prior notice.

WARRANTIES: The seller agrees to guarantee against defect any goods manufactured by the seller for a period of 12 months from the original date of purchase. Any goods supplied that are not manufactured by the seller will be guaranteed for a period not exceeding the original manufacturer's warranty.

RETURNS: No returns of defective goods shall be accepted by the seller without prior consent. Warranty replacements will only be issued upon receipt of the faulty goods and providing the goods are in reasonable condition. Any goods returned as not required or incorrectly ordered will only be accepted after notification in writing within 7 days and will be subject to a 20 percent re-stocking charge.

GOODS SENT TO US FOR REPAIR/SERVICE: No goods will be accepted for repair or service unless accompanied by documentation containing a valid returns number. If there is no returns number, the goods will be returned to the sender at the senders cost.

SHORTAGES AND/OR DAMAGE: Any claims for shortages and/or damage must be made in writing to the seller within 7 days of delivery of the goods. If damage has occurred the original packaging should be retained for inspection.

SOFTWARE: All software supplied by the seller is licensed to the purchaser and is not transferable without prior consent. The software is copyright material and must not be tampered with or altered in any way. The seller reserves the right to refuse any requests for help in such cases where it has been found that the software has been tampered with. The seller accepts no responsibility for any consequential loss or damage incurred if the software is attempted to be used for any purpose other than that for which it was designed. It is up to the purchaser to make as many backup copies of the software as is deemed necessary. There are no restrictions on the number of backups made. If no backups are made and the original copy fails, then a handling charge of £30.00 will be levied for supplying replacement software.

SOFTWARE UPGRADES: It is the seller's company policy to constantly update its software and to supply this software to the market in the form of regular upgrades. These upgrades carry a software version number for identification. Each software upgrade produced will incur a charge of £30.00 unless otherwise stated. Software upgrades are not generic. They are specific to each customer and will therefore only contain an upgrade based upon the software modules previously purchased by the customer either direct from the seller, or from one of the sellers appointed distributors. That is to say if a customer had previously purchased only four software modules, then the software upgrade would only contain upgrades to those four particular modules. In such cases where a customer has more than one decoding system (subsequent software modules supplied at half of their original cost) software upgrades are still charged at the normal rate, i.e. the half price rate does not apply to upgrades only.

HARDWARE: All hardware supplied by the seller contains no user-serviceable parts and must not be tampered with or altered in any way. The seller reserves the right to refuse any requests for help in such cases where it has been found that the hardware has been tampered with. The seller also reserves the right to render all warranties null and void with immediate effect in such cases where it has been found that the hardware has been tampered with. The seller accepts no responsibility for any consequential loss or damage incurred if the hardware is attempted to be used for any purpose other than that for which it was designed.

TECHNICAL ADVICE: The seller agrees to provide technical help to any account holder not currently in breach of our terms and conditions and provided the request for technical help is received on our dedicated help-line (overseas enquiries excepted). Calls made on this line are charged at 60p per minute at all times. The seller accepts no liability for any loss or damage incurred as a consequence of any help provided.

SMALL ORDER HANDLING CHARGE: All small orders received will be subject to a minimum order charge of £3.50 excluding VAT.

POSTAGE AND PACKING: All orders despatched are subject to a minimum postage & packing charge of £2.50.

VAT: All orders despatched are subject to VAT at the current rate (17.5%)
